Erika Fodor acupuncturist, cognitive hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner, trauma informed

Hello, I’m Erika.

​

I’m an acupuncturist and Cognitive Hypnotherapist specialising in fertility and reproductive health.

​

My way of working has been shaped by two areas that have always interested me: understanding what may be happening physically, and understanding the person experiencing it. Fertility is one of the places where those two things can become particularly difficult to separate.

​

My background in psychology and hypnotherapy taught me to listen carefully, look for patterns and understand how people make sense of difficult experiences. My training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine gave me another way of understanding health and the body. Specialist fertility training brought those perspectives into the world of reproductive medicine, fertility investigations and assisted conception.

Over time, this has shaped the way I work now: looking carefully at the information in front of me, asking questions when something doesn’t quite fit, and trying to understand the wider picture before deciding where our attention may be most useful.

What I’m like to work with

I’m naturally curious and I tend to notice details. I ask questions, and I like to understand the reasoning behind things rather than simply accepting them at face value.

I’m warm and informal, but I’ll also be straightforward with you. If something catches my attention, I’ll tell you.

I’m comfortable reading and making sense of blood tests, semen analyses and other fertility investigations, and considering them alongside your history and the wider fertility picture. Where something needs expertise outside my scope, I work alongside and refer to other professionals when appropriate. I want you to leave our conversations understanding more than when you came in, and feeling able to ask questions about your care rather than simply being carried along by it.

Training & professional background

My training spans fertility and reproductive health, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and psychological and therapeutic approaches. These different areas continue to inform and develop the way I work.

Specialist fertility & reproductive health training

  • Toxic Heat with Naava Carman - advanced training in complex fertility and health presentations, integrating biomedical, functional medicine and Chinese medicine perspectives, with a focus on inflammation, infection, clinical investigation and referral.

  • Advanced Level Diploma in Fertility Acupuncture with Naava Carman - advanced specialist training integrating biomedical fertility knowledge with Chinese medicine, including reproductive immunology and complex fertility case analysis.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Fertility, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine - postgraduate specialist training integrating conventional reproductive physiology with Chinese medicine, across fertility, assisted conception, male and female reproductive health and gynaecology.
